Joan Gefen’s Toffee Bar Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2 sticks butter (I use unsalted)
1 cup packed DARK brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups or 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips
Mix together and press into jelly roll pan.
Bake 20 minutes (I check at about 18 – depends on how your oven heats!)
Let sit a few minutes. Cut into squares and take out, placing on cookies rack to cool.
