Menswear Inspires Décor for Floors
Menswear-inspired prints and colors have become ubiquitous in bachelor pads and family homes alike because of their familiar homey comfort and casual style. Designers are using rugs based on these traditionally masculine patterns to create surprisingly gender-neutral looks and add texture to both contemporary and traditional spaces.

The deep blues, eggplants, and deep gold hues common in masculine-styled rugs are cozy and welcoming colors, and they’re subdued enough to be used in big swatches of pattern. We think that these rugs in stripes, hounds tooth, and plaids adorn the floors of unisex home offices and well-appointed living rooms just as well as a patterned scarf complements a gentleman’s winter Burberry.
